The aim of these guidelines is to assist traders in meeting their obligations to consumers under the Consumer Protection Act in terms of price promotions and related issues.

The fundamental issue for traders is to ensure that actions are taken with due care and diligence and having regard to the principle of good faith. Adherence to the guidelines will help give consumers assurance that they are being fairly treated and will help create a level playing field for traders.
