3. Advertising - Specific Practices
The remainder of this paper sets out the views of the Agency on a variety of promotional activities and related matters.
Invitation to Purchase - Provision of all material information
Traders should ensure that relevant material information is provided in relation to all products that they sell or offer for sale. This includes the price of the product (inclusive of taxes) and, depending on the nature of the product, delivery / postal charges, service charges etc.
Any trader selling goods and offering a delivery service for certain items, should:
- Make it clear if there are any separate delivery charges involved (for example for delivery outside a particular area) and
- State the amount of these charges
This information should be provided to the consumer before s/he is committed to buying.
